In 1998, when people practicing their religion were being persecuted out of ignorance, I felt it was important to search for the truth. Recognizing the portal into the Divine Mysteries that Ayahuasca opens and the value of the Santo Daime, a Brazilian religion being practiced in many countries, I began filming in the Amazon Rainforest, at the heart of the Daime in Mapia. At the same time, I felt that the best protection for this misunderstood elixir was silence. It was not until recently that Ayahuasca has been reported in mainstream media. This film was finished a number of years ago, but only now is it being released. With the word out, people are searching for ways to have access to this wonder that can be more healing than a decade of psychotherapy. The film reveals the Santo Daime, making its marvel available.
